We Remember
KOZIKOWSKI, Judy Robin
—
1948-2020
Judy Robin Kozikowski (AKA Martha or Jenna) passed away July 27, 2020, one day after her 72nd birthday. Survived by her loving husband George (Jungle) Kozikowski; daughters Lisa Dommasch and Kim Miller (Willie); grandchildren Travis, Stephanie, Jake, Jesse, Jordan, Alysha, Johnathan, Payton, and Carter; sister Gail Schuck; brother Jim McMillan (Debbie); along with great-grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, and countless friends. Judy was predeceased by her father Robert McMillan, daughter Cindy Rottenfusser and mother Kathleen Beck.
Judy was one of a kind as everyone who knew her would agree to. Feisty, spitfire, witty, and firecracker are just some of the words used to describe this wonderful soul. She loved deeply and sugar-coated nothing, but nobody could get enough of her infectious personality once she touched their life.
In October 2013, Judy was given the news she had Small Cell Lung Carcinoma with a prognosis of less than two years to live. She refused to succumb to this disease, never gave up hope, and miraculously was cured following chemo and radiation in the Spring of 2014. Her unwillingness to leave her family and friends behind gave her the strength to complete treatment and bless us all with another 6 years together. She always spoke so highly of her Radiation Oncologist, Dr.Mohamed, and believed his dedication to her specific treatment plan gave her the additional time on earth… and for that our family is eternally grateful. The last six years were not of complete health for Judy and without the devotion of George, she wouldn’t have made it into her 70’s. He was an amazing husband and although he was banished to the basement many times over their 50 years together, she wouldn’t have picked anyone else to be her partner in life.
Now all of us are left to mourn as it’s the ones left behind who suffer. Time to hold all the great memories close and remember this isn’t goodbye, it’s till we meet again.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, a private family service will be held Friday, July 31, 2020, at 2:00 pm. As per Judy’s wish, she was cremated and amazingly enough will reside in the Legacy Gardens Niche at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery right in between her daughter Cindy and mother Kay.
