KRISTALOWICH, Walter Joseph

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Joseph Kristalowich.  He is cherished and dearly missed by Tena, his best friend and devoted wife of forty years as well as siblings Teeni Yanick, Sophie Cowell, Michael Kristalowich, Frank Fiarchuk, Nick Fiarchuk, Tom Fiarchuk and many nieces and nephews.

Walter was born March 3rd 1948 on a farm in Elphinstone, Manitoba to Rose and Adolph Kristalowich.  He moved to Kelowna in 1973, met the love of his life at a dance and spent his 35 year career at Crown Packaging. He was a long-standing member of the Snowmobile Club – one of his greatest passions.

Walter had a wonderful way with people and made lifelong friends wherever he went.  Always a joke at hand and a laugh waiting to be shared.  He will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched.

The Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 5th 2015 at 1pm at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd. Reception to follow.

    Tena:
    Our condolences and sadness go out to you. The two of you were truly one, and it was always a happy opportunity to meet up and share news of the day. Frenchie was connected to you both over the years of snowmobiling, and your experiences were always interesting stories to be told. May you hold your special memories and continue to relate those to us. Walter was a special person, as recognized by all, and our hearts go out to you in this difficult time.

    Tina, we extend our sincere condolences to you and your family members. I worked with Walter for many years and enjoyed many stories and laughs with him. He suffered for many years but he suffers no more. Take comfort in knowing he can now rest in peace. Tina, take care of yourself.

    Tena, Walter was such a great guy. He will be missed by all. I remember so many snowmobiling trips. My favorite , I had a brand new sled in the fall of 03, close enough to use the command start for my truck Walter pulled right in-front of my broken down skidoo and tied on a rope.With pride he towed me 55 feet.

    We want to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to all family members and friends who are grieving at this time. Please find comfort in what it says at John 5:28&29 about the resurrection that will happen soon, as promised in Isaiah 33:24, Job 14:14, 15, and the earth will be filled with happy, healthy people who will never get sick, grow old, or pass away ever again. May these verses bring you comfort.

    Tena and family, thinking of you at this difficult time. I enjoyed getting to know Walter and especially will remember our ride when the trail was dedicated in his name. Had a great chat with him that day. He was a true gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him.

    Our sincerest condolences, Tena. Peter used to really enjoy his chats with Walter at the fence when they worked side by side a few years ago.

    Tena, All of us at the bowling center are saddened to hear about Walter’s passing. He was such a nice man. We always enjoyed seeing him come in with his big smile. We are thinking of you. Sending you big hugs. Unfortunately we were out of town last week or I would have come to the funeral and given you a big hug.

    Very sorry to hear of Walter’s passing. I have many good memories of working with Walter back in Elphinstone running heavy equipment as well as snowmobiling in the Horod hills. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
