We Remember

LA VIOLETTE, Leigham Michael

April 14, 1986 — February 9, 2025

It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the loss of Leigham La Violette, a beloved father, son, grandson, and brother who left us all too soon at the age of 38. Leigham passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2024, and left an eternal mark on those who loved him left behind.

Left to hold him dear to their hearts are his two sons, Samuel and Isaac, who he loved beyond words; his mom Kelly Alaric; dad Jeff Alaric; sister Chantelle La Violette (Kevin Lionais); brother Weston Alaric (Taylor Brown); and half-sister Rikki La Violette. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Irene Horner; paternal grandmother Jo McCaffrey; and many friends and extended family whose lives he brightened.

Leigham now goes to join those who passed before him, including his maternal grandfather, Harvey Horner and grandparents, Murray and Dianne Alaric.

Born on April 14, 1986, Leigham had a natural charm and a magnetic personality that made him stand out wherever he went. He faced many challenges and struggles, but his sense of humour and optimism always shone through. Music was a passion of his, which gave him a way to express himself and connect with people.

Above all, Leigham’s love for his two sons, Samuel and Isaac, was unmatched. They were his world. He especially loved to spend time fishing with them on Okanagan Lake – moments the boys will carry with them forever.

Leigham’s love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his light will continue to shine through with the impact he had on everyone around him.

A private service held for family and friends will take place this Sunday. Contact the family for more information.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Leigham’s honour to B.C. Mental Health & Substance Use Services, or a charity of your choice.

My heart is breaking for all of you that love him. I remember so many adventures when you lived in our basement suite.
