We Remember

LAKOVIC, Momcilo “Momo”
April 6, 1946 — March 12, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Momcilo “Momo” Lakovic, who peacefully went in his sleep in West Kelowna, BC, on March 12, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born in the village of Medun, Montenegro, on April 6, 1946, Momo spent his early years in his homeland before moving to Vancouver, Canada, at the age of 21. There, he built a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to his family.
Momo met his wife, Marsha, and together they created a beautiful life, celebrating 54 years together. He was a proud and devoted father to four wonderful sons, Veso, Zoran, Milosh, and the late Sasha Lakovic. Momo’s legacy continues through his ten beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
A man of immense strength, Momo worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family. He was especially proud of his role as a father, and later a grandfather, always eager to attend his children’s sports games and cheer on his grandchildren as they grew. Family was everything to Momo, and he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Momo is survived by his wife, Marsha; his children, Veso (Natalie), Zoran (Devon), and Milosh (Shannon); his grandchildren, Drekalo, Haylee (Alex), Ashlee, Lynden, Asia, Von, Lyberty, Miljana, Jelena & Jovo; and his great-grandchildren, Dejan, Miles & Lennon.
He was predeceased by his son, Sasha.
Momo’s strength and devotion to his family will never be forgotten, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
