We Remember

Lane, Daniel Scott

May 27, 1966 — February 6, 2025

Dan Lane passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on February 6, 2025, at the Central Okanagan Hospice House, Kelowna, BC.

In his youth, Dan worked at Playland in Vancouver, operating rides in the amusement park.  He later moved to Nanaimo and worked as a janitor in the hospital there.

Throughout his life, Dan was very close to his brothers and got into lots of mischief with and without them.  Dan was known for his love of swimming in the Nanaimo River with family and friends, and, on occasion, a few members of the Hell’s Angels. His love of play extended to card and board games, where he enjoyed many games of Crib, both in person and online. He was also a Scrabble player, never missing a chance to challenge others to a friendly game.

He was predeceased by his mother Lorraine.  He is survived by his father Gene; brothers Joe and Mike; sister Debbie; and his nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dan will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, and his strength, which remained until the end.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association.
