We Remember
LEONG, Janet
—
Janet Lea (Binet) Leong, 76, of Kelowna, BC, peacefully passed December 15th, 2014, with her family by her side. Lea is survived by her two children: Michelle (Jeff) Sharples of Las Vegas and Suzanne (Mike) Jilek of Kelowna. Along with her 6 beloved grandchildren; Meg, Molly, Mikey, Maya, Matthew, and Mika. Also survived by her sister Nancy (John) Townley of Wallaceburg, ON, and nieces Brooke and Avery Beauchamp of Calgary.
She had many friends and cousins in many places, and had hours of enjoyment keeping in touch via social media. Lea was always the first to comment or ‘like’ your photo on Facebook.
Lea married Wally Leong in 1967, raised her family, and lived her life for them.
Her heart was the biggest part of her body. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched and loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at 754 McClure Road, Kelowna, BC.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. For those wishing to send a condolence, photos or share memories, may do so by scrolling down this page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

To Suzanne, Michelle and family… I am so shocked and saddened to hear of you mom’s passing. I will always remember her for her beautiful smile and sweet personality and always being one of our ” dance out” hula moms! May you have many wonderful memories to help you through this most difficult time. I’m sorry, I wont be able to make your mom’s Celebration of Life gathering but I will be thinking of you all.
My sincerest condolences……
Suzanne Ryll
I was shocked to get Nancy’s call on Tues. to inform me of Lea’s passing. She was the most beautiful of women who was a good friend to all. She loved her family above all else. She will be missed by all who knew her. I cannot attend the Celebration of Life, but I want you to know that she is constantly in my thoughts, as are the whole family. With love and sympathy to all, Pam
My thoughts are with you all. Lea will be remembered forever by her family and friends. She was truly a beautiful person. I am out of the country as you know but will be with you in spirit on Saturday. The Bridger/Jennens/Hunter Family send ever so much love to you all. Patti

Suzanne, Michelle, Nancy and family:
I wish it was easier to find the words to convey how sad I am to hear about Lea. She was such a sweet little lady and so easy to be around. She loved you all so very much! I have such fond memories of living next door to your family and the times I spent with all of you. You all have a special place in my heart. I’m sending you hugs and love. Nancy
So sad to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was such a great Momma Bear. Will always remember her on the sidelines of your soccer games cheering wildly. Will be thinking of the whole family today. All our best, The Jacques Family
It’s hard to say good-bye to the dear friend I’ve known for the past 67 years. It was such a shock to get Nancy’s phone call. She loved you all and the memories of her will always be there for you to treasure. With sympathy and much love. Carol
I just received your e-mail Nancy and could hardly believe the news. I became good friends with Lea from the time we worked at Gas Distribution and she was my matron of honor. I lost touch and then we started
communicating via e-mail. My thoughts and prayers are with your families whom she was so proud of —
Wilf & I were very shocked to hear of Lea’s passing while we were on our cruiseship. We remember Lea as such a lovely person to know. Wishing Michelle & Suzanne many happy times & good memories of you mom & we know you’ll cherish all good memories of her.
