We Remember
MANZUIK, John
January 29, 1923 — August 23, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of John Manzuik announces his passing on August 23, 2023, at the age of 101. John will be remembered by his loving wife of 77 years, Joan; their children Steve, Maureen, Ken (Kerry), Trevor (Pat), and Denise; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
John joined the army at the age of 17, becoming a member of the Seaforth Highlanders, where he served with distinction throughout campaigns in Sicily, Italy, and Holland. During this time in service, he met his future wife, Joan, in England. After serving for 6 years, John returned to Canada and moved with his new bride to Flin Flon, Manitoba. There, he started his own business and raised his 5 children.
In 1970, John and Joan semi-retired to Winfield, BC (now Lake Country) where they operated the Hillside Grocery store for many years while taking time to become snowbirds in Arizona. During his non-travelling times, John enjoyed curling, playing cards, and walking throughout the community.
Memorial donations can be sent to the charity of your choice in John’s memory.
There will be a private family service being held in honour of John.

I am so very sorry to hear this news…. Condolences to all the family
I had a lot of fun times at Manzuiks…still a bit scarred by the rabbit stew tho! Mr and Mrs Manzuik always made us kids welcome
It’s been a long time……wow good for you and your dad for him to live to 101! Our sincere condolences. I am a Sangster and you chummed with my brother and sister Jack and Sandra before we moved to Thompson. Sandra passed and Jack is in a personal care home in Winnipeg following a serious stroke. I was one of the twins. And of course Keith chummed with Steven in his younger years in Flin Flon. ❤️🙏
