We Remember
MARTINEK, Peter
November 6, 1963 — December 28, 2024
Peter Martinek passed away in Kelowna, BC, on December 28, 2024.
Peter was born in Cranbrook in 1963 and lived in various British Columbia locations as his father had various postings with the RCMP. He attended school in Victoria, where he excelled in many sports and was very popular. As a teen Peter moved to Kelowna with his parents where he lived until his passing.
Peter loved sports and collecting coins. He was a quiet soul, whose biggest passion was the Beatles and classic music in general. He loved to play the guitar and write songs. Peter will be remembered by friends and family for being an incredibly giving soul.
As every song has a beginning, every song must also have an end. Peters’ song hasn’t ended. It will continue at a new venue, as he presents it front and center at “The Great Gig In The Sky.”
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at White Heather Manor, 3728 Casorso Road, Kelowna, BC, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

Condolences to all Pete’s family! Enjoyed getting to know Pete as we were regulars at the A&W in
Mission. So impressed with his acceptance of his disability. His joy of music was his comfort and he shared it often. He will be missed. RIP
Peter truly was a gentle person and I was honoured to spend time with him each week. We would go hunting for CD’s and movies. Peter had a big collection and was always looking to add to it. We would go for lunch and shopping. We had many conversations and he was always willing to give and share his treasures that he found with his friends. He talked many times about his family and growing up, playing soccer and traveling to Ontario by train.
It was an honour to be one of his friends and to get to hang out with him. He will be missed . My condolences to his family and friends.
