MCGREGOR, William (Bill) James
May 29, 1932 — January 7, 2022
Bill passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on January 7, 2022.
He is survived by his children: Lynette (Lonnie) Venera and Tom (Debbie) McGregor, grandchildren: Nicole (Darcy), Carla (Dwayne), Curtis, Ashley (Jonathan), James, and Nicole (Darryl), great-grandchildren: Mylee, Reeghan, Riley, Charlie, Adam, Eric, Brooklyn, Brianna and Nyla his sister June MacGregor and brother Bob McGregor, brother and sister in law Frank and Gail Lindstrom, many nieces and nephews.
Sadly predeceased by his wife Loraine McGregor in 2017.
Bill was born in Delbourne, AB, and was raised in Mirror, AB. He worked on rigs out of Dawson Creek, then went to Fort Nelson for many years to open his own tire business. After he retired, he moved to Chetwynd and then finally his resting home was the Okanagan Chateau here in Kelowna.
Bill will be remembered for his humour and strength, his stubbornness, and frugal ways. One pant leg in and one out of his cowboy boots(on purpose) as mom would say AG (attention getter), and his quick wit always brought laughter to those around him. His last words to everyone were always “Have a gooder”
We would like to thank the Okanagan Chateau and the care workers from Interior Health who provided such exceptional care.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers may be sent.
There will be a service held at a later date when the pandemic restrictions have been lifted.
