MICHAELI, Eithan Sylvain

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Eithan Michaeli, born November 13, 2001, and died April 19, 2023. Gone too soon.
Born and raised in Kelowna, BC, Eithan had a heart for adventure and loved to travel. He visited many countries and enjoyed experiencing the sights and cultures of the places he visited. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hiking, skiing, and being in nature with friends and family. He had a passion for music, both for listening to various genres and for creating his own.
Eithan had a vibrant personality and cared deeply for those important to him. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Catherine Sylvain and Izak Michaeli; his brother Ilan; and many close family members and friends.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Eithan in middle school during our exchange trip with students from École De L’Anse-Au-Sable. We had a great group of students, had lots of laughs & many great memories were made in just those short few weeks. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Sending thoughts & prayers from Nova Scotia to everyone who knew & loved Eithan.

Catherine, Izak, quelle tristesse, quelle perte incommensurable. Ilan, la perte d’un frère crée un trou béant qui était loin d’être prévu. Cet espace demeurera toutefois plein de lui pour toujours, et il t’accompagnera partout où tu le voudras bien. Tu peux le chérir, le garder près de toi, l’engueuler, l’interroger, lui demander conseil, il est maintenant ton ange gardien.

There are no words to describe the sorrow we feel in our hearts. We had the opportunity to meet you recently as an adult, you’ve become such a wonderful person, you left such a positive impression on all of us, You were kind and had spread your energy and big smile around you, you were the center of the room all the time and were meant to do great things.
We love you and miss you and are broken-hearted, you’ll never be forgotten in our memories and hearts.

Even though I’ve only known Eithan for 4 months I’ve come to know him like a brother. We spent every day and night together for 2 weeks on our birthright trip to Israel. Eithan was such a kind soul and befriended everyone around him; he was always smiling and laughing. I work in audio engineering, and about a month ago Eithan reached out to me for advice, and I started to show him the ropes. I am deeply saddened I wasn’t able to finish teaching him as he seemed so passionate in perusing this field. I offer my deepest condolences to Eithan’s family, the loss of such a pure soul is a tragedy.

I met Eithan on my recent birthright trip back in December. Immediately at the airport, you could tell that he was such a fun, caring, and kind person. For the very short amount of time that I knew him for, I am so glad I got to meet him. Truly one of the very few people in this world that you could feel a connection and friendship with right away. He is and will always be so dearly missed. One of my fond memories with him was having ice cream together in Tel Aviv and walking around the beach. We love you Eithan, rest in peace. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends.
I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I was one of Eithan’s Birthright leaders this past December on his trip to Israel and I had the honour of getting to know him for over 10 days. He was an incredible person that brought so much joy and passion to our group. His love was infectious and it was clear to me that he was the heart and soul of our trip. I’ll cherish the memories that I have with him for the rest of my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.
As a mother & grandmother, the pain of losing a child is unbearable. Your letter to Eithan was so heartfelt & touching. May your soul slowly heal with the support of family and your precious memories of your son.

I loved your personality from the first moment your dad and me met you at sheraton hotel in tel- aviv on the taglit program ..
A week after we went to sina egypt -after along trip of 7 hour drive in my jeep -you wher so happy..
During all the trip you called your dad “ABA” -it was so sweet to hear it over and over again…you loved your mom your dad and brother grand mother and pap you kept talking about them all the time….how you love them and loved the food they are making when you come every time to israel …
For one week we traveld togther to a trip in sinai
