On a beautiful evening in August 2023, Germaine Montpetit was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven. Germaine will be lovingly remembered by her adoring husband of 67 years, Roger; her ever-grateful children, Harvey (Donna), Delores (Ken), Donald (Stacey), and Joanne (Gordon, who predeceased her). She was the proud and loving Memere, to her 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was loved and admired by her three sisters, seven brothers, numerous brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Germaine was a deeply spiritual woman who shared God’s love with others. She had an unwavering faith in God as a young child, and her faith grew stronger throughout her entire lifetime.
Mom inspired many people through her optimistic perspective of life and death, as she eagerly looked forward to the joys of heaven. We will all miss her earthly presence in our lives. As a beloved child of God, we find joy in knowing that she is now at peace.
Prior to the cancer diagnosis, 10 weeks before her passing, Germaine enjoyed swimming three times a week, playing bridge, cooking and baking for her family, playing the piano, dancing, reading book after book as, well as visiting with her family and friends. Throughout her 84 years, she saw beauty all around her. Her flower beds were meticulously designed and cared for, gifting anyone who visited with a huge assortment of gorgeous and unusual flowers.
Germaine’s entire family would like to thank the Brookhaven Care Home for their tireless help, support, understanding, prayers, and love during her final days. We will never forget all that you’ve done.
“And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ” Ephesians 4:32
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brookhaven Care Center or The Society of St. Vincent De Paul.

Dear Roger, Harvey, Delores, Donald, Joanne and families,
Our sincere condolences on your loss. Germaine was the oldest of 11 children in our family. She forged the way for the rest of us and assisted mom in many ways including caring for us younger siblings, not the easiest task at times, but for which I am truly grateful. She was an excellent cook, welcoming and hosting family functions, offering plenty of tasty home-made dishes. Germaine spoke lovingly and proudly of all of you, and as the obituary expresses she will be fondly and lovingly remembered.
We are thinking of Germaine and you at this time and sending much love.
Alphonse & Judy
Germaine was amazing woman of deep faith and love. I got to know through her daughter and my great friend, Delores. She has left a legacy of beautiful children, grandchildren and great grand children that truly value and cherish their heritage, family traditions and connection to God. May all the memories lived with her bring healing to your hearts as you grieve her parting. May you also find peace knowing that she is now enjoying her eternal life with Jesus. Love Chris and Julia
