We Remember
NEUFELD-PETERSON, Caelan
January 10, 2020 — October 30, 2023
Caelan Neufeld-Peterson passed away at the tender age of 3 1/2 while receiving care at the BC Children’s Hospital on October 30, 2023. Once diagnosed with cancer, he displayed remarkable courage in the face of his illness.
Caelan, a bright and joyful young boy, had an inquisitive mind and looked forward to his days at preschool. He lit-up when playing with trucks and tools. His happiness radiated when he was outdoors, often spending his time playing in creeks and enjoying going fishing. Caelan adored visiting his parents at their workplaces and enjoyed trips to the local coffee shop; he even had his own little special orders he would like to tell the baristas. His favourite superhero was Spider-Man.
Too soon, he leaves his heartbroken family, his parents, Joelle & Brandon Peterson; his grandmother, Starla Neufeld; grandfather, Shawn Neufeld; and grandparents, Wade & Laurie Peterson. He will also be dearly missed by his aunties and uncles, Ciara & Laszlo Toth, Kendra & Elias Gering, Paige Peterson, Caleb Neufeld, and his cousin, Ariella Gering.
A Funeral Service will be held to give him a meaningful goodbye on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM (PST), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
Caelan was a beacon of brightness in the lives of those around him. He loved bright, fun colours, with a particular fondness for purple and green. To honour Caelan’s memory, the family would greatly appreciate it if you could wear a vibrant colour to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children’s Hospital.

My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Joelle and family. I had the honour of meeting this young one and could see how bright and special he was and will continue to be. Sending my love to you all during this impossible time. Rest well sweet boy.
My sincerest and deepest condolences to you all. Taken way too soon but no longer in pain. Hold tight to the memories.
My heart and soul is given to you all related, especially Caelan’s Parents. Hug those we have for the one we lose. For a new Angel has risen above us. Peace Love Namaste.
Our hearts go out to you all. We are so sorry for your loss. Arlene and Ray ❤️
My husband, Giovanni, was following your sons story. Giovanni had brain cancer and passed away a day before Caelan. I like to think that Giovanni was standing there with open arms for Caelan. Giovanni left his 2 and 4 year old children behind. We miss him dearly and I know some of your pain.
If you ever need to reach out please do. -Arielle
“ Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear, for death leaves a heartache no one can heal, and love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
My condolence to the family on the loss of Caelan.
Our hearts are broken for you all, though we never met Caelan, we often heard stories and saw Laurie and Wade’s eyes light up when they spoke of him. May your love of your sweet boy and the love between you two help carry you through this difficult time.
My heart sincerely goes out to your entire family. Myself and my family were keeping up with the updates on Caelan’s go fund me page. Our hearts were all broken to hear about the news. We are all thinking of you guys and sending so so much love. -Love Kelli, Marc, Amanda and Wesley, Turcot.

We never had the joy of meeting Caelan, but heard about the many happy times he had with his great-grandma Stella.. She shared what a joy he was whenever she spent time with him!
Our heartfelt condolences to you all.
We are so sorry and heart broken to hear of your loss! We never met Caelan but Stella used to share how much she enjoyed him. He was a very special boy and we pray peace, hope, and comfort as you “take one day at a time “ in the days ahead. Joe and Irene Hofer

Condolences to the family. Caelan will be forever missed by his little friends at Little Owl. Our daughter Declan spoke highly of Caelan. Prayers for comfort and peace to you all.
The memories I have of Caelan will be forever treasured in my heart. He was my very first great-grandchild and brought so much joy. The fun times I had with him during the summers I visited with family in Kelowna gave me so much joy. hearing him say “Come, Gi-Gi” and take me around the yard, sometimes finding the garden hose and spraying me and laughing when he caught me.! I’m thankful for the times I could baby-sit him and times of grocery shopping with him and his “mimi”! He will be missed so deeply. He loved running through the grass and I visualize him running through the grass in heaven!
So Sad Joelle and Starla for your huge loss! I do remember Caelan running and playing and laughing in our yard.. i think he loved to come and see his Great Granma here! And she loved him so much! May our Loving Father give you comfort!
