We Remember

NIJJER, JADVINDER SINGH

November 16, 1960- June 15, 2021

We are heartbroken to share the news that Jadvinder Nijjer passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 15, 2021. He passed away doing something that he loved, was passionate about, and did all of his life – farming. He was on his tractor for one last ride… a true farmer and Son-of-Soil.

Jadvinder was born in Punjab, India on November 16, 1960. On January 29, 1986, sponsored by his wife Dalbir, he came and settled in Kelowna, BC, Canada. This became his permanent home for the remainder of his beautiful life. He made his living on the orchards for many years, while raising a young family. He then purchased his own orchard in 2001 and cultivated apples and cherries for over 2 decades. He was a hardworking, caring and loving person, and he had a heart of gold that was constantly giving back to the farming and Indo-Canadian Community, in Kelowna and overseas in India.

He will be affectionately remembered by his loving wife, Dalbir; his son Harvir; his daughter-in-law Simar; his grandson Benaik; his daughter Bunvir; his son-in-law Randeep; his daughter Jaspreet; his son-in-law Barinder; his grandson Saihajvir; and his extended family and friends here in Canada as well as in India.

He truly made everyone in his life, and everyone he met, feel loved and special. He had countless unique qualities, and his intentions were always pure and genuine. He was a pillar of the local community and believed in living a life serving his community. He has left imprints on so many lives and hearts, and he will be missed by so many. We take comfort in knowing that on his last day, he spent quality time playing with his youngest grandson – we can hear them laughing now, and forever will, in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held to honour Jadvinder, however, due to the current pandemic restrictions, it will be by invitation only. The family would like to invite all who want to pay their respects to join by Livestream on SATURDAY, JUNE 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM (PDT). A recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
