We Remember

PAULGER, Patricia Alvina
December 11, 1942 — March 16, 2025
Patricia Paulger passed away surrounded by family and friends and the music of Elvis on March 16, 2025, in the Central Okanagan Hospice House, Kelowna, BC, at the age of 82.
Born and raised in Coquitlam, BC in 1942, back when the milkman still came to your door and neighbours stopped by unannounced. Oh, how times have changed! But some things stayed the same – like love. Pat was lucky enough to meet the love of her life, Sheldon, while attending a birthday party in Port Moody, BC, after that they were side by side, for so many wonderful years.
Pat wore many hats over the years, and not just the stylish ones from her days as Miss Coquitlam. Oh yes, She was crowned at the PNE! But, beyond the tiaras and photo ops, she was happiest with her hands busy. She loved to crochet, and if you ever needed a warm blanket or a cozy shawl, she was your gal. And, let’s not forget the golf and curling; she spent many afternoons on the greens and the rink, laughing with friends and perfecting her game.
But, more than anything, Pat loved to entertain. Whether it was a simple tea with neighbours or a big holiday spread with family, her home was always open, and her heart was full when people gathered around. She cared deeply for those around her, and that’s what truly brought her joy.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband of almost 59 years, Sheldon Paulger. She also leaves her surviving children, Darren and Jennifer (Ian) Southern; her brother, Danny (Trisha); as well as her dear friends Frank & Sharon Gilfillan, Lorne & Marg Thompson, Judy Eason, Karen (John) Antanoplolous, and Carol & Murray Erfle. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son Thomas, with whom she is now reunited.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.

We have many fond memories of time spent with Pat and family – camping and parties. She loved to play with my little ones as Jennifer, Darren and Tommy were older. Her smile and giggles were infectious. Jane was delighted to make her a tape of our trip to Memphis and Graceland complete with Elvis songs as I knew her passion for Elvis. Rest in Peace Pat
The curling rink was our connection to Pat and Sheldon.
There never was a day Pat did not have the happy smile on her face. It made me feel good just to be in her company.
Our condolences to Sheldon and family.
