So Sorry that I can’t be at the funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with you, love Diane Grundstrom
Dear Valerie, Yvonne, Raymond and family. My thoughts are with you so much, and will be following the service. I cherish every wonderful memory I have of your folks. May God’s comfort and grace be with you as you say good bye to your dear mom. Love Beth Williston
Thinking of you today! Whenever I play “The Robin’s Return” to this day, I think of Freda and Jack. Always enjoyed your dear mother: she was an excellent cook and kept a lovely home. And she dearly loved each one of her children! She loved the Lord and her faith was great. Seems to me that even though life had been very hard on her at times, she did what she could! Always had a smile, ever since I have known her. May you find comfort in today and the days ahead! (Will be attending the funeral via “computer” here at home.)
What a lovely service, very fitting for a wonderful woman. I’m so pleased that I was able to share this tribute, if only from a distance. Frieda’s loyalty to my Dad and Fownes Construction was unquestionable and we are grateful to have had her in our lives. Our deepest sympathies go with you today.
Can’t be with you physically but with you in thoughts & watched the service. Have wonderful memories of your mum & dad & times we spent with them. Your mum was a very special lady & a true example.
To Valerie, Yvonne and Raymond. We send you our condolences. Sorry we couldn’t be with you, but we watched the service and could say amen to everything shared. To the three of you, she was a loving mother and a matriarch of the whole family. May your memories be a strength, comfort and cheer. To the fellowship – workers and friends she was a rock, fortress, helper and encourager. To our family, with whom she met for many years, she was a shining example of strength, a role model, “grandmother”, and friend.
Freda tirelessly displayed love, hospitality …there was always an open door and “warm welcome on the mat” at Mountain Hwy. We were recipients of this hospitality at many sings, pot-lucks, sharing visitors, and goodbye get-togethers.
Freda was a fine example of modesty, strength, faith, hope, patience and forgiveness.
We send you our love in your loss, but rejoice in her wisdom of choosing Truth where Eternity holds a place for her.
After the service, with tears running down our cheeks, we said, “what now?” And we did what we know Freda would approve of – made a pot of tea!
Norma, Gillian and Helene send their love too.

VALERIE, YVONNE & RAYMOND,
WE ARE SADDENED TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF YOUR DEAR, SWEET MOTHER. WE WERE AWAY ON HOLIDAYS SO MISSED THE FUNERAL, HOWEVER, WATCHED THE VIDEO. A LOVELY SERVICE FOR A LOVELY LADY!
WE HAVE MANY GREAT MEMORIES OF BOTH YOUR PARENTS. THEY WERE WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND SUPER GREAT NEIGHBOURS. WE SHARED MANY A GOOD LAUGHS WHETHER IT WAS OVER A MEAL, CUP OF TEA OR JUST TALKING OUTSIDE IN THE YARD OR STREET. MANY OF OUR CONVERSATIONS WERE ABOUT THEIR BEAUTIFUL IRELAND. SINCE WE HAD BEEN TO IRELAND IT WAS EASY TO SEE WHY THEY LOVED THEIR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY SO MUCH.
WHENEVER WE SAW YOUR DAD OUTSIDE AND MOM WAS NOT AROUND; WE WOULD ASK HIM, “HOW IS FREDA? WHAT IS SHE DOING TODAY” HE ALWAYS REPLIED (WITH A HUGE GRIN), “OH SHE WAS MISBEHAVING AGAIN, SO I HAD TO PUT HER IN THE BASEMENT FOR A WHILE” ONE TIME YOUR MOTHER CAME AROUND THE CORNER AS HE WAS TELLING US THAT. SHE SMILED SOFTLY AND SAID “MAYBE IT IS TIME WE PUT YOU, JACK IN THE BASEMENT!!!”
NOT ONLY DID WE LOVE THEM FOR THEIR KINDNESS & SENSE OF HUMOUR; WE ADMIRED AND LOVED THEM FOR THEIR GREAT LOVE FOR THE LORD. THEIR ACTIONS ALWAYS SPOKE LOUDER THAN WORDS.
WE HAVE MISSED THEM THESE PAST SEVERAL YEARS; OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME.
REMEMBER THE GOOD, FORGET THE REST. MAY GOD SHINE HIS PERPETUAL LIGHT UPON YOUR MOTHER AND GRANT HER ETERNAL PEACE.
LOVE,
DAVE & BETTY (NEIGHBOURS ON VICKERS COURT)
Dear Yvonne : Evie gave me the website for the funeral home and today I had the wonderful privilege of listening to and watching to the service for your Mom. What a beautiful tribute to a lovely woman.
She was a faithful steward and proof that we can be faithful unto death. May the good memories bring you great joy.
Love and care,
Marj Tingley
Dear Yvonne, Valerie and Raymond….it was by pure chance I came across your Mom’s obituary tonight and I can’t even tell you how it made me feel. My mother (Bessie Chambers) and your mother were very good friends and mother always had a wonderful appreciation for her friend Freda. It was always a very special time when your folks were home and would come to Dalystown to visit….do you remember coming, Yvonne?
Maybe you did too Valerie and Raymond but I can’t recall. I was glad to see her since then at Glen Valley…20 yrs ago. Your Mom sure has left you a wonderful example and special memories.Yes, she WAS a special lady. I listened to the funeral service now and it was a wonderful tribute to her. My love and care to you all. Doris Chambers
