We Remember
PLUMRIDGE, Kerri Lynn Elizabeth
—
Age 50, Kelowna BC
February 19, 1971 – May 5, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kerri Plumridge on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in Kelowna, BC.
Born in Edmonton, AB Kerri was the daughter of Fred Plumridge and the late Jennifer (Alook) Laing. She worked mostly in construction, carpentry, prefab and sales within Calgary and Kelowna, but Kerri found her passion in helping others and volunteering at the homeless shelters, food banks, and soup kitchens whenever she could.
Kerri was very passionate about her culture (Cree), which she was taught by her Uncle Gilbert Alook. This gave her great inspiration in all aspects of her life and helped her in some of her darkest times. She learned many important spiritual rituals, including smudging, when she was included in her Uncle’s band and their ceremonies.
Kerri also loved the arts, baking and being outdoors. She was always painting, drawing, crafting or riding her bike in her spare time. A project that she was extremely proud of was the native drum she made for her son, Jesse.
Kerri is survived by her son Jesse Neuls, Calgary, AB; parents Fred and Sandra Plumridge, Calgary, AB; sisters Rhonda (Sean) Duffee, Calgary, AB, Roxanne (Paul) Kane, Spruce Grove, AB, and brother James (Dania) Plumridge Calgary, AB. She is also survived by six nieces (Caelyn, Taylorshea, Callie, Teaghen, Emma, and Ashley), one nephew (Ryley), one great-niece (Amelia), and her loving Uncle Gilbert Alook.
Kerri often left parting sayings on her Facebook posts and so, in her own words: “Smoke a Joint and just laugh I guess eh 😂😜😎”
Kiyām.
