Jack Pomeroy passed away on November 14, 2018 in Kelowna at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Verna (nee MacGregor); daughters Jackie George-Johnson (Steve) of Marysville, WA and Wendy Stevenson (Jim) of Kelowna; son Ted Pomeroy (Linda) of St. Andrews, MB; grandchildren: Caley George (Ali) of North Bend, WA, Leanne Messina (Ray) of New Westminster, BC, Kristen Tremblay (Derek) of Surrey, BC, Cory Stevenson (Michelle) of Kelowna, BC, and Breanne Pomeroy (Sheldon), Lisa Atkins (Danny) and Jeff Pomeroy all of Winnipeg, MB; great-grandchildren: Mikayla and Kaden Messina, Felix and Skylar George, Colton and London Tremblay, Chloe, Isla and Aria Stevenson, Arianna and Zak Walkoski, and Avery and Brooklyn Atkins. Also survived by sisters Shirley Moore and Pauline Moore both from Cobourg, ON. Jack is predeceased by great-grandchild Kaia Messina.
Jack was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1946 to 1969 having served in Trenton, Goose Bay, Winnipeg and Germany. After retiring Jack started a successful career in office furniture sales. In 1994 Jack and Verna relocated to Kelowna to a milder winter.
Jack was a proud Past Master of the Red River Masonic Lodge in Winnipeg.
His greatest joys were his family, friends and his beloved pets. Anyone who met him enjoyed his company and his love of laughter, country music and getting the most out of life.
