We Remember
SEARLES, (Retired – Army) Sergeant Thomas G.J.
—
Passed on May 17, 2013 at 7:05 pm quietly and peacefully in his sleep after a hard battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Margarete and his son Timothy, his grandson Forrest, his brothers John and Don, as well as his sisters, Lee and Evelyn.
He was a father, a husband and soldier, a man of great dignity, deep wisdom and love. He left an indelible mark on us all and we will miss you.
He defended our family, our nation and those incapable of defending themselves, without question, or need of reward. Sergeant Thomas Searles was a peace keeper in Egypt, Cyprus, Italy, Germany, Yugoslavia, and the Golan Heights during some of the tensest moments in history, and served them with honour, grace and distinction.
Goodbye Dad, Goodbye my Bestest-Husband-Ever, Goodbye Brother, Goodbye Grandpa. Enjoy your last posting…..
