Karen and family, I am especially sorry for your loss. Bruce was an amazing man and a valued friend. I shed some tears when I saw that big smiling face in the obituaries. That picture says all anyone needs to know about Bruce, even though there is so much more to tell. Bruce and I spent a lot of time together “cruising” in his SUV listening to his Chicago cd over and over, stumbling our way through the crowds at the OK Korral so he could sing karaoke, and flirting with the waitresses at Perkins. He was constantly either trying to embarrass me or make me laugh. I think Bruce was possibly the most inspiring person I will ever know. I am blessed to have been his friend and I can’t wait to see him again, dancing like Michael Jackson and singing like Tom Jones. And smiling like only Bruce Shumay can. sincerely, Bill Kenney
My condolences to Bruce’s family. When I worked at Sears many years ago I would see Bruce walking through the store. He would always be smiling and was so friendly to everyone. He will be missed dearly by all.

Dear Karen and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing, and so sorry for your loss. Truly a good guy has left us. Bruce really was so independent and determined to live his best life. He had an amazing sense of humour and that twinkle in his eyes said it all. I always enjoyed our visits and I was always amazed at his resilience. He will be missed. Much love to you. Patti
We were sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. He was Russ’ Dad’s across the hall neighbour at Hawthorne Park when he lived in Kelowna.. The 2 of them shared a birthday and, as long as Dad lived there, we’d throw a joint birthday party. We will miss his humour, flirting, teasing, his smile, and that (often mischievous) twinkle in his eye! He genuinely cared about others. We feel fortunate to have known him. He will be missed.
