We Remember
SOLLOWAY, Sheron
—
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, that we announce Sheron Solloway gained her angel wings, passing away peacefully on November 7, 2023, and has been reunited with her best friend, her husband, Gord Sr. She will be dearly missed by her daughter: Sheri Solloway (Mark) of Red Deer AB, and her son Gord Jr. (Carrie) of Kelowna; grandchildren Jeb (Katye), Logan (Christie) and Kyle; great-grandchildren Trinity and Taelyn; brother Ron (Debbie) and their children Dustin (Jayme), and Amber (Frank). She will be remembered by her sister-in-laws Judi [and her daughter Karen], Janice (Ron) [and her children Jody (Samantha), Jeremy (Alesha)], and Sandy (Len) [and her children Laurie (Brad), Steven (Danielle)]; as well as many nieces, nephews and many many dear friends that she held close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband Gord Sr in 2019; parents Anne (Bill) and Edward; brother-in-law Brian and sister-in-law Patricia.
Sheron was an avid bowler and it was her passion all through her life. She spent many years coaching youth bowling at Valley Lanes and then at Orchard City Bowl, where she worked for many years, eventually retiring from her job at the University. Those whose paths she crossed, both young and old, loved her dearly as her compassion, her sense of humour, and smile shone as bright as the sun. She truly was an angel and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing she is back in the arms of Gord Sr.
Your life was a blessing, your memories a treasure
The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day
Yet the love and memory of you shall never pass away
There are no goodbyes for us, only “Until we meet again.”
At this time the family is honoring Sheron’s wishes and will not hold a service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House.
