We Remember
STUART, Russell Alfred
April 18, 1939 — October 18, 2024
Born in South Himsworth, Ontario, on April 18, 1939, Russell Alfred Stuart passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 85, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Russell is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Shantelle Schneider, his son, Ryan Stuart (Jen), and his cherished granddaughters, Annabelle and Summer Schneider. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Helen Stuart, his sister Marion, and his brothers, Earl and Harold.
Russell spent much of his life working for CP Rail, where his fascination with trains transformed into a lifelong passion. He became a dedicated train enthusiast and collector, always ready to share his knowledge and joy for the rails. His days were often spent walking, rain or shine, and he loved to read, listen to his radio, and he kept things rather simple.
Known for his warm and friendly nature, Russell rarely lost his temper, always greeting friends and neighbours with a smile. He was the kind of person others could depend on for sound advice and a helping hand in times of need. He loved and cherished his family very much, and his presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
Russell’s kindness and gentle spirit will be forever treasured, and his memory will live on.
