We Remember

VERESCHAGIN, Walter
August 2, 1960 — October 6, 2023
Walter Vereschagin, a native of Kelowna, BC, passed away at the age of 63. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to a career in emergency services, serving as a paramedic and firefighter from the age of 23. A significant chapter of his professional life spanned 17 years in Saudi Arabia, where he trained individuals to become firefighters.
Beyond his career, Walter’s heart belonged to his family. He met his beloved wife Linzi 23 years ago in Saudi Arabia and they’ve celebrated 19 years of marriage. He cherished his time on the ball field, and hockey arenas where he watched his children with pride. An outdoors enthusiast, he embraced activities such as golfing and fishing. Known for his social and outgoing nature, Walter was a source of happiness and positivity for those around him. He rarely voiced complaints, always putting family at the forefront of his priorities. He had enthusiasm and was a true fun-loving spirit.
Walter Vereschagin’s legacy will be remembered and cherished by his dear wife, Linzi; his treasured children Brian (Valeriya), Steven, Colleen (Mathew), Nicholas, Oliver, and Rowan; and his precious grandchildren Lola, Emmett, Macy, and Ripley. Walter is survived by his adored mother, Vera Roberts; and his two wonderful sisters, Gail and Kathy. He has joined his brother’s sprit, Joesph, who passed in 1983.
As an expression of sympathy flowers may be sent, or, if you prefer, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
