Gerald “Bim” Wheeler passed away suddenly on November 4, 2014 at the age of 61 years. Bim was born in Kelowna on March 17, 1953 and remained a resident his entire life. He is survived by his siblings: Melvin (Cathy) Wheeler, Roland (Audrey) Wheeler, Sharon (Glen) Reid, Jeannette (Bob Herring) Gruber, Doug (Janet) Wheeler and sister-in-law Marj Wheeler, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bim was predeceased by his parents Chester and Rose Wheeler and siblings Russell “Pug” Wheeler and Richard “Dick” Wheeler. Donations in his memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9, www.heartandstroke.bc.ca. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 29th at 2:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall at the corner of McCurdy and Rutland Road, Kelowna, BC. Everyone at Glenmore Elementary during the early 60’s knew who Bim was!!!As a young girl, I remember thinking Bim’s dad owned the whole corner of Willow Crescent…even when I drive down that street now, I think of the Bim I remember. I’m sorry for your loss by his passing.I do hope happy memories shared with him will help you through this sad time.My most sincere condolences to his family.
