We Remember
ZUMBO, Vince
—
On August 6, 2013, Vincenzo Antonio Zumbo peacefully passed away. His wife Agnes, his kids Carmelo (Valerie), Robert (Allison), Mark (Tanya), Christina (Gregory), Antonio and his grandchildren along with his extended family will remember and cherish him always. Over the years, he has touched the lives of many people. He was the first person to pour you a glass of wine, share a great story, a good meal or even give you a job. He would always offer to help a friend in need but no matter the occasion, he was the last to arrive (ZST – Zumbo Standard Time), unless concrete was coming. The monuments he has built and the memories of him will last forever. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His family and friends meant the world to him so we would like to invite those that knew him to come celebrate his life and tell some great stories because that’s how he would have wanted it.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation for all the care and support from the staff at Kelowna General Hospital and Hospice House.
A viewing will be held on Friday August 9th at 6pm and the Funeral will be held on August 10th at 1pm both at the Springfield Funeral Home at 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, British Columbia. In lieu of flowers, any donations in his memory can be made to Central Okanagan Hospice House. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com (250) 860-7077.

Thank you for your expression of sympathy. Your thoughtfulness is highly appreciated.
Dear Zumbo family, Although we do not know you personally, we are very close to Bruno Zumbo, who was my (Mari’s) professor at UBC many years ago, and continues to be a mentor to me. Through the years, Bruno always spoke so fondly and lovingly about his brother, Vince, and about his family in Kelowna, with Bruno’s nephews/niece and great nephews/nieces. He also told us about his visits with the family to an Italian restaurant over there that we also know well (Mamma Rosa). The Zumbo family was “close” to the UBC student group and we know how dearly Bruno loved his brother Vince. We were so sad to hear he was sick and everything happened so suddenly – we can only imagine how devastated you all are. Please receive our deepest condolences and know that Vince is in our prayers. You all are in our thoughts The way you all describe Vince really portray a wonderful person – we hope that you can fill a little bit of the immense void his passing leaves with memories of times shared with him. Warmly, Mari Pighini and John Day (Vancouver)
Agnese, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Agnes and family,
My hear felt condolences to you and the children. Vince was a great fellow who I liked very much while he served in the Knights of Columbus. He was always pleasant to chat with him and he was generous with his time to help at the Breakfasts and would even bring the children to help us in the kitchen. I was the Financial Secretary then and would correspond with you annually. My prayers are with you all and I wish you courage at this very sad time. We are living in Ottawa now so I am sorry I can’t attend today’s fair well, but I am there in spirit.
RIP Vince WE WILL ALL MISS YOUR STORIES AND YOUR JOY OF LIFE. Our condolences to Agnes ,Carmelo,Robert,Mark,Nina the Zumbo family and grandchildren.
Agnes and family, I was heartbroken when I heard from Laurie (Nurse Next Door) of Vince’s passing. The one time I got to meet this great man was one I will remember. He was so interesting and funny. He spoke to me about how much he loved his family. Vince introduced me to this great Mt. Royal Bagel coffee shop on Sutherland which I never knew existed the food is fantastic. He knew the owner and we received great service. A true gentleman….and I go into that place at least once a week and always think about him.Even though our paths only crossed for a short time, he is someone I will always remember. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Dear Cathy and family,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this difficult time. Mourn his loss and celebrate his memory, for he will forever be in your hearts.

May I request our Deepest Condolences to the Zumbo Family. We are very sad to hear of Vince Zumbo’s passing. One year ago on August 4 th ,I had the Privelege of meeting Vince Zumbo, at my Daughter Chasidy Zumbo and now my Son in Law Alfredo Zumbo’s Beautiful Wedding. He gave many speeches , and left a very warm feeling in my heart that day, I had the Privelege of speaking to him and found him to be one of god’s most precious Angel’s on this Earth. I met many of his Family at the Wedding of Chasidy and Alfredo Zumbo and would like to say how much I’m thinking of them and wish them Peace and Health at this sad time. Please except our Deepest Condolences.

I am so upset that I missed his funeral. Vince was special to a lot of people!!! Please take care of each other, and smile knowing that he is making sure that heaven is no longer boring 🙂 With lots of love, Michelle, Nicholas and Julene
